Fitted wardrobe and oak panelling in Manningtree

The job

This bedroom in Manningtree was being finished to a high standard throughout, and the customer wanted the storage and the walls treated as one scheme rather than a wardrobe bought separately and stood in a corner. The room has a high ceiling, so anything standard would have left a run of dead space above the doors.

What we did

We made a bespoke fitted wardrobe 2.8 metres high, taking it right up so there is no gap left at the top, with top boxes above the main doors. Alongside it we built matching bedside units with extra deep drawers, an oak book unit set into the alcove, and a run of oak wall panelling over 2.4 metres long. The painted work was sprayed in PU to match Dulux Chic Shadow, so the wardrobe and the bedside units sit in the same colour, with the oak book unit and the wall panelling left natural against it.

The result

A fitted bedroom in Manningtree where the wardrobe, bedside units, book unit and oak panelling were all made and finished together, so the room reads as one piece of work rather than separate bits of furniture.
